the climate crisis.
The climate crisis is currently destroying our natural habitats. To change the tide we need to come together and support sustainable companies that do not create excess waste and ... Not only are we sustainable by design but we also give to different projects with each purchase. We give 1% to healthy seas, the organisation that rescues the discarded fishing nets that are regenerated into the swimsuits we have today.
By investing in a piece from SoSo Swim you are supporting healthier seas, carbon neutrality at each production step, ethical pay and working conditions, and an independent female run small business.
Our swimsuits are all hand made in the UK.
This is one of the reasons our swimsuits cost more than a conventional high street swimsuit.
By producing our swimsuits in the UK we know that the working conditions are safe and they have a proper minimum wage. We are able to stand out from many other sustainable brands by producing in the UK. Although it brought up our prices slightly, we believe this is the best way to ensure that we know the working conditions are ethical.
Each of our swimsuits are made from ECONYL® fibre, a regenerated nylon that is made of discarded fishing nets and old carpet offcuts. It is twice as resistant to chlorine, suntan creams and oils so your swimmie will last you through every summer.
We use eco elastic in all of our swimsuits, this is manufactured in Spain with an OEKO TEX 'Made in Green' standard, certified a 100% natural rubber meaning it is made sustainably and ethical.
We use compostable mailer bags so you can put them into your compost bin to compose.
Our swing tags are printed on handmade eco friendly paper that is made with germination so that once you receive your swimsuit, you can remove the tag, put it in a pot and watch as your flower grows.
Since I was a child I wanted to make a difference for the planet. When I was 9 I started a online dog boutique with the tagline 'Go Green on the Dog Scene'. Fast forward 12 years and my focus is now on woman but still with the hope to make a difference on the environment.
This is me, to the left, sipping a Piña Colada. I spent months deciding on our design and researching the best materials to use. In the end we were able to create a design that accentuates the female form, it allows us to be sustainable and not compromise on style. I hope you love your SoSo Swimsuit as much as I do.
I am so lucky to be able to see if on you and how you also love the style.
